The 61st Foundation Day of the Lal Bahadaur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm in the Academy on 10th September, 2020. Following social distancing measures in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, the function was organized online with the Chief Guest Honourable Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievance and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh and majority of the Academy staff participating virtually in the function. The function began with the welcome speech presented by the AD, Miss Ekta Uniyal and playing of the Academy song. Thereafter, book titled “Lesser known Heroes of the Freedom Movement” was released by MoS(PP) Dr Jitendra Singh. Simultaneously, in the Academy it was released by Dr. Sanjeev Chopra, Director, Prof. N. K. Sudhansu, Ms. Monika Dhami and Shri Jitendra Mohan. Dr. Sanjeev Chopra, Director of the Academy highlighted the activities that were undertaken by the Academy throughout the year.  He mentioned that the various modules were prepared by the faculty of the Academy and classes were successfully conducted online. The Hon’ble Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh through Video Conferencing in his speech, lauded the efforts made by the Academy for including over twenty different services for conducting a “Combined” Foundation course and also extended his felicitations to the entire fraternity of the Academy especially the Director, Dr. Sanjeev Chopra. He mentioned that the Academy will play a major role in Mission Karmyogi for training civil servants. A number of employees from the Academy were felicitated for their dedication, hard work, courage and exemplary behaviour which included the MTS(mali) Shri Atma Ram; personnel who rescued employees from the site of Fire Accident in Malakoff Vindhyachal Building;  frontline workers of Covid Care centre, Smt Rani Prajapati for contribution in Society for social service and Shri Satya Singh Rana, Ex-PTI. The Vote of Thanks was given by the President, NGO Association, Shri Jitendra Mohan.  The function came to a conclusion with the singing of the National Anthem.
