NCLDCA has
spearheaded the UNDP-DoPT initiative to build capacity on leadership in
training institutions since 2013 and has successfully designed Basic Leadership
Skills (BLS) and Mezzanine Leadership Skills (MLS) experiential leadership
modules for young officers and mid-career trainees respectively. The NCLDCA has
also created a certified National Pool of Trainers for delivery of these
modules. Since 2013, the BLS module has been integral component of the
Foundation Course/induction level programs for AIS and Central Civil Services
at LBSNAA, MCR HRD and other Academies. The MLS has been implemented in various
Phase III/IV programs for IAS officer at LBSNAA and for officers of other
services by their respective academies. Initially, the project was jointly
handled by NCLDCA and NIAR (National Institute of Administrative Research,
another autonomous society of LBSNAA. On upgradation of NIAR into National
Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), National Centre for Leadership Development
and Competency Assessment (NC-LDCA) took charge of the UNDP-DoPT Project to
carry forward the capacity building initiative on leadership assessment and
development and all aspects related to development of leadership modules.
