International Day of Cooperatives 2026 | 4 July | "Cooperatives for a Peaceful World"

On the occasion of the International Day of Cooperatives, the Centre for Cooperatives and Livelihoods (CCL), LBSNAA, Mussoorie presents 20 Stories of Cooperative Livelihoods — field initiatives piloted by IAS Officer Trainees under the CCL Seed Funding Programme across 20 States and UTs, from Rajkot in Gujarat to East Kameng in Arunachal Pradesh.

From temple-flower incense in Gujarat and GI-tagged Matabari Peda in Tripura, to fisherwomen supplying five-star hotels in Uttar Pradesh and water-hyacinth weaves in Assam — each story shows how small seed capital, placed with organised communities, builds dignified, women-led enterprises.

When people come together with a shared purpose, cooperatives become a powerful force for peace, inclusion and prosperity.
