Sensitisation |
• The curriculum
of the Foundation course includes sessions to create awareness among the
Officer Trainees on welfare of the differently-abled as well as to sensitise
them towards the differently-abled. • Apart from
classroom lectures, the course also includes a field visit to institutes/
centres dedicated to the cause of differently-abled to give direct exposure
to the Officer Trainees on disabilities and the welfare of the disabled. |

Accessibility of
campus and buildings |
• LBSNAA is
well-equipped with ramps and braille-coded elevators to provide barrier-free
access to the differently-abled to various facilities in the Academy. • A helper is
assigned to every differently-abled Officer Trainee on a need-basis to
provide individualised support in regular activities. • An
electric-rickshaw is available on campus to ease the commute of the
differently-abled from one facility to another. |

Accommodation |
• The
differently-abled Officer Trainees are housed in the Happy Valley hostel as
its location is favourable for accessing lecture halls, Officer’s Mess,
library and other facilities that require frequent access. |

Lectures |
• Faculty are
highly sensitised to the needs of the differently-abled. • Inclusive
classroom sessions • Lecture
materials are made available in accessible formats before the start of the
session. |

Canteen/ Mess |
• The Officer’s
Mess provides room-service on need basis. • Dining halls can
be accessed through elevators. |
