सारथिः (LBSNAA Assistant)

Browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox

Who provides this extension

The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India. सारथिः is an internal tool for officers and staff of the Academy. It works only on the Academy's own network and is not a general-purpose consumer product.

What the extension handles, and why

Data	When	Why
Text you have selected on a page	Only when you highlight it and choose a task from the right-click menu	So the Academy's AI service can summarise, explain, translate or answer a question about that text
Your Academy username and password	Only when you sign in	To verify you against the Academy's Active Directory. The password is not stored by the extension — the field is cleared the moment it is sent
Your display name and a session token	Returned by the Academy's server after sign-in	So you are not asked to sign in again for every question. Both are kept on your own computer and are deleted when you sign out or the session expires
The noting text of an eOffice file	Only when you are on an eOffice page and click “Capture whole noting history”, and only after you grant permission for that site	A noting history is spread across panels and frames and cannot be captured by selecting it with the mouse

Where it goes

Only to the Academy's own server, operated by the Academy on its own premises (ai.lbsnaa.gov.in, which is reachable only from inside the Academy's network). No data is sent to any third party. There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking and no profiling in this extension, and it is not used to determine creditworthiness or for any lending purpose.

What the extension does not do

It does not read the pages you visit. Text reaches it only because you selected it and right-clicked.
It keeps no record of your browsing history, your clicks, your keystrokes or your location.
It is read-only: it never writes, edits or submits anything in eOffice or in any other application.
It loads no program code from the internet. Everything it runs is contained in the extension package itself.

How long things are kept

On your computer, the extension keeps only your session token and the text of your most recent selection; both are removed when you sign out, and the token also expires on its own. Questions and answers handled by the Academy's service are retained in accordance with the Academy's own records practice.

Your choices

Signing out removes the session and the stored selection from your computer.
Permission for eOffice is optional. It is asked for only when you first use the capture feature, and declining it leaves the rest of the extension working.
Removing the extension from your browser removes everything it had stored locally.
