Gandhi Smriti Library

The Gandhi Smriti Library (GSL) of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, is one of India’s premier institutional libraries supporting the academic, research, and training needs of officer trainees, faculty, and participants of the Academy’s various programmes.

Overview

The Library provides an inspiring environment for learning and research. It houses over 1.8 lakh documents, including 1,72,344 books, 9,497 bound journals, 64 Braille books, and 8,496 CDs/DVDs, along with 4,178 digitized rare titles accessible through the “Online Catalogue (OPAC)”

e-Resources and Digital Access

GSL provides comprehensive access to e-resources through “MyLOFT (My Library on Fingertips)”. Users can access all subscribed databases and e-journals remotely using SARGAM/GYAN credentials. The One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) has been implemented through the INFLIBNET Centre, to provide seamless access to quality international scholarly journals.

JSTOR, IndiaStat, EPWRF India Time Series, Indian Journals, Manupatra, SCC Online, EBC Reader, CaseMine, LiveLaw, Bar & Bench, Magzter, Casemine.

Special Collections

Gandhiana Section: Books by/about Mahatma Gandhi.

Gyanlok Section: Rare works from P. K. Jain’s Gyanlok Research Centre.

Making of the Nation Section: Works by civil servants and on India’s administrative history.

Award-Winning Literature, State, Audio-Visual, and Children’s Sections.

Facilities

The library is fully automated and RFID-enabled using KOHA LMS.
Key features: Self-issue/return kiosks, 24×7 RFID book-drop stations (Karmshila & Gyanshila), information kiosks, and online search via OPAC.

Periodicals and Journals

Subscriptions include major national newspapers, 64 magazines, 66 foreign and Indian journals, and wide range of e-journals from reputed publishers.

Services

Lending, reference and bibliographic services, reprography, literature search, inter-library loan, audio-visual access, and new arrival displays.

Member of DELNET, ILA, IASLIC, and CGLA, enabling resource sharing and professional collaboration.
