Workshop on Combating Violence Against Women and Children

The National Gender Centre (NGC) in collaboration with Ministry of Women and Child Development, conducted a three days workshop on “Combating Violence Against Women and Children” at Indira Bhawan, LBSNAA, from 21st – 23rd June, 2018,  for the  officers from Judiciary and All India Services. Shri K. Moses Chalai, Joint Secretary (BBBP, STEP, Gender Budgeting, and Coordination), Ministry of Women and Child Development addressed the participants. The workshop was enriched by the presence of 48 participants from across the country. Eminent speakers discussed many issues related to violence against women and children and engaged the participants into active learning.
The sessions focussed on issues such as  Ending Violence Against Women and Children: Investing in Solutions,  Gender and Inequality – How Patriarchy Underpins Such Inequalities, Engaging Men in Preventing Violence Against Women, “Unheard Voices”, Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013, Human Trafficking (Women & Children), Sexual Harassment at Workplace and  How to Strengthen Local Complaints Committee, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) , Challenges in implementation of Laws Related to Women and Children - Judiciary Perspective and Keeping Children Safe in Cyber Space.
